My old life

I booked a place in Coorg called the "Honey Valley Estate" run by a small family. I plan to take Shalina there for our vacation from the 7th of Jan to the 14th. I hope this turns up quite good - the cost is only Rs.900/day but the food is expensive..
This new year started quite differently. On the first (the day before), Shalina and I traveled to Thiruvanmiyur and spent the day with her parents.. Was a good and restful time. All of us enjoyed it.
We returned later in the evening back to Shenoy Nagar and then we went to Mike's place at about 9:00 PM to view the "Star wars - revenge of the sith" on DVD. Philip John and Premela and Mathew, and also Alisha Exley were there.. was a good time..
Returned home quite late into the night and then got up around 7:00 AM the next day. I had a time of prayer.. and started reading Genesis.. I finished Genesis by evening and started on Exodus.
I have been going through a strange time.. questioning within myself if the Bible does not have some mistakes and inconsistencies.. and wondering what of the Bible to believe and what not to.. I am convinced that the old testament is mostly accurate.. but I think I should learn hebrew and read the original texts.. or should I study greek?
In anycase, I am reading through the Bible at full speed to get the meaning.. I think we have misinterpreted many things in the Bible. I want to learn for myself.
I am also thinking that we should learn about hearing from God - the people in the Bible didn't seem to have any trouble distinguishing the voice of God unlike now. I am wondering if that may have something to do with our own hectic lifestyles and the fact that we let pretty much anything enter our heads these days.
