I need to work on a strategy to get going:
1. I will work with Roy and get a project. I will help him create the RFI and proposals for a project or two and hopefully convert those.
2. I will get my team here started on the work - I will give them a small chunk of the work and then pay them for it.
3. I will need to organize the room upstairs to double up as an office.
4. I will generate money for the team here from the US as I work there.
5. I will need to get Raju going too - he could work as my able assistant. He needs a challenging job and he is smart and trustworthy. I think I might be able to give him a head start.
6. I will need to figure out a way to get Alwyn in too.. But he will need to work on my terms.
7. I will need to figure out a way to get the ITSamachar treated as part of my work..this could act as our first project.

The past few weeks have been time for change. I have been thinking more and more about what to do about my career. For a while, I toyed with the idea of going back to college - perhaps do an MBA in some good school such as the IIMs or the XLRIs..It will take a lot of work but I think thats possible.
I spoke to Amma about the problems I have been having getting along with Alwyn. The relationship is on the rocks..I find it very difficult to get along with him since he does not seem to be overly concerned about my well being - actually he does not seem concerned about anyone's well being except his and he is willing to ensure his own at the cost of everyone else's.
Amma asked me what I was going to do.. I told her my thoughts about going back to College.. or maybe starting a company..Amma seems to favour the latter.. and I do too. This latter option seems to be gaining some critical mass over the past few days.. I met up with Saravanan and Pavithra yesterday - man, she is so beautiful but I know I need to keep away.. Anyway, Saravanan told me that he would join me if I did start a company on my own. He mentioned this out of the blue and that got me thinking.. he seemed to think that GSE had lost its best technical resource after I left and that the company was not the same anymore.. Also, he told me something about how Mitrefinch project was lost and from what I heard it seemed like the project was lost because the people who took over from me had no idea as to how to go about handling the work I had started. He seemed to believe that the fault was not mine. I was honestly relieved to hear about this because the failure of that project has been a cause of great grief for me.
Saravanan's obvious faith in me and his willingness to commit to working with me if I did start off something was deeply moving.. I feel fortunate to have these friends around me. I told Saravanan that we could get started on something small and then keep working on it while we continued to work at our day jobs. I told him that everything should be very hush hush.
Coincidentally, Roy called up last night and we talked a bit about the business. I told him in no uncertain terms that I was interested in starting something and that we could work something out. I told him that I would appreciate it if he passed on some business my way since I can get the sort of people for completing the work - the design work could be done by Makesh and gang, the technical work can be done by some people from 3rd agenda or GSE.. Delphi, Java and ASP work can be handled by us. I told him that I would need a small project to get the people here going. I need to whet their appetite before I can get them to commit to working with me on a more permanent basis.
I will need to gain and maintain the trust of these people.
I also asked Roy to send me details of his RFI and RFPs for me to look at since he hasn't had much success with these RFIs.. it is possible that I can see something that he missed.
I will need to follow up with Rohit to see if I can get started on the project of connecting the missions across India using a single network of some sort.

A lot of things have changed. Its been months since I updated the blog - been too busy with being busy.
Anyway, I never did get around to meeting Seena again.. she keeps phoning up once in a while though. I am not sure if she is completely disinterested in me.. she probably has a small bit of her which still feels that I might actually be the One.
I am back in India now.. been here for the past week. But I will need to get back to the US. The last visit to the US was pretty fruitful professionally since I managed to get 11 plugins signed off. I will need to go back and complete the work.
